Due to the cold front/storm that moved through our area earlier this evening the notification of our Holiday Light Displays Award Winners will be delayed until Thursday evening. The final listing will be posted online on or before Friday. There were so many amazing displays and congratulations to everyone who participated and added to bringing the Spirit of the Season throughout the neighborhood.

The issue was created when only one person that was interested in running for the Board of Supervisors of the LPE Independent Special District got their documents in on time to qualified for the general election ballot. The  LPE ISD must now wait for Governor DeSantis to appoint at minimum another 2 people to the Board of Supervisors so that it can legally function and do new business with a quorum.  Click here to see attached a link to the letter from the LPEISD Legal Counsel Tim Hayes, as he provides some additional information on how our residents to help by making contact w our State Legislators and the Governor.

**UPDATE**  Pasco Enforcing Commercial Vehicle/RV/Boat Residential Parking

~~County code and regulation enforcement citations resume, effective immediately~~

PASCO COUNTY, FL 11-23-2020 ----  Pasco County is resuming enforcement of codes and regulations with citations, following a period of relaxed rules for commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles, or boats parked in residential areas during the pandemic.  The grace period earlier this year coincided with Florida’s Safer At Home order in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The return to the use of citations to enforce County codes follows the Florida Supreme Court’s guidelines associated with COVID-19.

Pasco County continues to observe Florida Department of Health and CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our customers and team members as Code Enforcement officers return to normal operations within the community.

County codes are a critical tool in keeping our communities safe and resilient, and we appreciate your cooperation.

For questions or concerns, please contact Pasco County Customer Service at 727.847.2411.

The LPE Civic Association would like to thank the departing members of the 2018-2020 LPE Independent Special District Board of Supervisors for their service to our community and their ongoing collaboration and support of the Civic Association and our events. The outgoing board members whose terms end on 11-17-2020 are:

Steve Yarbrough, Chair, along with Supervisors: Pam Carr, Keith Crockett, Dave Hipps, and Linda Hutchinson.

Update:  As of 11-19-2020, Governor DeSantis has yet to appoint any Interim Board of Supervisors to the LPE ISD to fill the vacated seats until the Special Election will held on April 13, 2021 to fill the those seats for the remainder of the 2020-2022 Term. Pam Carr was only resident to have filed the Candidate Qualifying paperwork to be voted on in the Nov 2020 General Election.  In order for the Board to do any "new" business there must be a quorum established. At this time only the Governor has the power to fill those vacated seats via Executive Order of appointments.

    • Election Polling Location TBA

During the October LPE ISD meeting,  the ISD Board of Supervisors voted to accept the Pasco County Supervisor of Elections, Brian Corley's option to hold the LPE ISD Special Election on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, as an add on to the scheduled 2021 Municipalities Election Cycle and stated to be at no additional cost to the District.  The other option offered would have been for a specific LPE ISD residents only election on  March 2, 2021,  at an estimated  cost of $4000 to the LPE ISD.

On April 13, 2021, residents of the LPE District will elect from those LPE residents qualifying and wishing to serve the remaining portion of the 2 year regular terms for the Interim Supervisors appointed by Governor DeSantis in November.  Note:  Governor DeSantis will need to appoint the interim ISD Board of  Supervisors  to serve on the board from the General Election in November until the Special Election in April of 2021. This will allow the ISD to legally conduct business by filling the vacated and unfilled positions on the board due to interested candidates missing the qualifying period cutoff date.
